Flash floods and debris flows moved several cars off the highway and caused damage to some homes.

On this day through 7.28 successive thunderstorms brought flash floods and mudslides to the Barton Flats area, damaging and closing roads.

Some property damage was caused by the heavy rain and hail.

Hail over one inch in diameter fell in the first 20 minutes.

1933: One of the hottest days on record in the San Joaquin Valley: 114° was the high at Fresno and Bakersfield reached 117°.
Both still stand as records for the date.
Hanford reached an all-time record high of 116°.
