Aspen Fire CA-SNF-1732
3.5 miles south of Mammoth Pool Reservoir and 6 miles northwest of Huntington Lake, Fresno County.
11,019 acres 20% contained

South Central Sierra Incident Management Team (Cooper) is in command of the Aspen Fire
The Inversion dissipated at 0900 hours this morning; this coupled with eastern winds led to increased fire activity during this operational period.Crews continued line construction and the establishment of anchor points to begin firing operations in the next several days.The VLAT was utilized for retardant application again today.

27,531 acres 99% contained.



Light initial attack throughout the GACC today.

Fire has burned 11,019acres 20% containment.

Today the inversion lifted earlier than it has in the past few days. Aircraft were able to start flying the fire this morning. Air tankers have been reinforcing the indirect line along Kaiser Ridge today. Precautionary evacuation of campgrounds and a summer camp west of the San Joaquin River on Forest Road 4S81was conducted today.
