South Central Sierra Incident Management Team (Cooper) is in command of the Aspen Fire. Air resources were grounded most of the day. Today's inversion was well established until approx. 15:00 this afternoon. Fire became active after the inversion lifted. Air operations were able to resume a 15:00 this afternoon. Mountain Fire CA-BDF-10080 27,531 acres 98% contained. San Bernardino N.F. type III organization (Chris Fogle)is in place. Cane Fire CA-SQF-2695 20 acres 0% contained. Due to steep and extremely difficult terrain fire is staffed with aerial resources and ground personnel at a distance. No changes in conditions. |
7/27 | 1430 | Initial attack in the last operational period through noon today has been light. 450 lightning strikes have been detected (wet) mostly over the Sierra N.F. and The Mohave National Preserve. No large fire activity has occurred as a result. |
