[californiadisasters] Wildfire - San Diego Co. - MVU/CNF - Chariot Incident



Chariot Fire Incident Information:

Location: off Sunrise Hwy, 9 miles southeast of Julian  
Acres Burned - Containment: 7,055 acres - 40% contained.  
Estimated Containment 40%  
Structures Threatened: 120 residences  
Structures Destroyed: 120 structures destroyed.  
Evacuations: Evacuations extended on Sunrise Highway from Highway 79 to Old Highway 80. El PradHorse Heaven and Laguna Campgrounds, and the Al Bahr Shrine Camp and the Foster Lodge remain under evacuation.

The Red Cross has established an evacuation center at Joan McQueen Middle School in Alpine.  

Injuries: 5 minor injuries  
Cause: Under investigation 
Cooperating Agencies: CAL FIRE, USFS Cleveland NF, CHP, San Diego County Fire Authority, San Diego County Sheriff, California State Parks  
Total Fire Personnel: 2,147  
Total Fire Engines: 183  
Total Fire crews: 56  
Total Airtankers: 4  
Total Helicopters: 2  
Total Dozers: 24  
Total Water Tenders: 24  
Conditions: Sunrise Highway remains closed.

Damage Investigation Team will determine type of structures destroyed tomorrow when safe to do so.
