There is continued support of agencies providing repair and reactivation of district water lines and electrical infrastructure.  Containment date extended one day due to the difficult terrain.  Demobilization is ongoing.

The SCSIIMT had a transition meeting with the Forest Type 3 overhead today at 1700 hours.  Transition to a Type 3 organization will be at 0600 on 08/11/2013.  Demobilization is ongoing, with approximately 300 resources released today.  Suppression repair, back haul and mop up continues.

Structures threatened with structure protection in place. Electrical transmission lines in the vicinity of the fire. Fire is burning in grass and brush. Incident is in unified command Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire. Firefighters are aggressively working to hold fire at the roadway and prevent from reaching into the Green Valley area. Firefighters are establishing trigger points in the event evacuations are needed as a precaution. CHP has placed a hard closure in place for San Francisquito Canyon between Santa Clarita Valley Rd. and Antelope Valley. ICP is established LA County Fire Camp #14 35100 San Francisquito Canyon Rd. Saugus, CA 91350

Values at risk; community of Wrightwood and surrounding structures. 100 Residences, 3 commercial properties, and 20 outbuildings or other remain threatened. Fire continues to back into structures. A Type 2 incident management team has been ordered. Red Cross evacuation center remains at Serrano High School.

Cal Fire INT#6 (Kaslin) remains in Unified Command with USFS (Felix), Riverside County Fire Department (Hawkins) and Riverside County Sheriff's Office (Peebles/Perdue). ICP remains at Noble Park. Fire did not spread. Damage inspection report is completed. Fire is holding on southeast side with only aerial retardant line. Significant progress made with crews completing, improving and holding fire line. Riverside County OES moved potable water into affected areas. Continue repairs of district water lines and electrical infrastructure. If fire does not roll or spot outside line, fire should be contained within 24 to 48 hours. Repopulation of communities Poppet Flats, Twin Pines, Silent Valley, Cabazon, and Snow Creek has begun.

Reduction in acres due to accurate mapping. Fire is in unified command with Southern California Interagency Team #3 (Wakoski), Cleveland National Forest, and Cal Fire (Gallegos). SoCal IIMT#3 transitioning to a local type 3 organizations on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 0600. Continue to mop up. Continue fire suppression damage repairs. Incident close out at Lake Elsinore High School at 1100 hrs.
This will be the last update from this incident.

Central Sierra Interagency Incident Management Team (Cooper) remains in command. Continue 300 ft. mop up. Monitor and construct lines as needed. Direct line continues to hold. The SCSIIMT will transition command of the incident back to the forest on August 11, 2013 at 0600. The type 3 team began shadowing today. Demobilization is ongoing.

The potential for fire to spread to the north and cross the middle fork of the Stanislaus River, into a very steep terrain with no roads. With favorable weather conditions, and if resource needs are met the likelihood for success is high. A demobilization plan has been approved and put in place.

Fire has been wind and time tested. Fire is expected to remain within current containment lines. Suppression repairs are underway. Back haul of hose and supplies are occurring from the fire perimeter. The Ortega Highway remains open under CHP escorts. CALTRANS continues to repair highway features within the fire area. Demobilization continues with surplus resources being made available to other incidents. Management of the fire will be transferred to a local type 3 organization on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 0600. SoCal IIMT#3 to close out with the forest on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the afternoon at Elsinore High School.

Rapid rate of spread within grass, brush, and timber.

Values at Risk: Structures are threatened. Portions of the community of Wrightwood. Law enforcement officials have issued mandatory evacuations for the following areas/roads: Mojave Scenic Drive, East Canyon, Lone Pine (South of) to Buckthorn, Slippery Elm and
Mahogany Road. No further information is available at this time regarding  the number of residents or homes evacuated. The Red Cross has established an evacuation center at Serrano High School in Phelan. Ground resources are having difficult access.

Fire continues to move in eastward into the Snow Creek Drainage threatening residences in the Snow Creek Drainage and the San Jacinto Wilderness. Electrical transmission lines continue to be threatened as well as the communities of Poppet Flats, Twin Pines, Silent Valley, Cabazon, and Snow Creek. Fire behavior is backing, flanking and head fire with dangerous rates of spread through light and flashy fuels with short range spotting when aligned with wind and slope. With anticipated weather and poor RH recovery resources will be critical to continue fire suppression and slow forward spread. Cal Fire INT#6 entered into unified command with USFS (Felix) at 1700 hours today.The fire made a significant run to the east and increased in the size of 3,000 acres. Damage inspected has resulted in an increase number of structures damaged or destroyed.

Incident is in unified command with Cal Fire (Gaines) and San Bernadino National Forest (Felix) Riverside County sheriff's office and Cal Fire incident management team #6 (Kaslin) has been mobilized to this fire with a tentative transition /in-briefing scheduled for 1400 today. ICP has been established at Noble Creek Park (Oak Valley Parkway cross of Elm Ave., Beaumont) SR
 243 is closed from 10.3 miles west to 1.5 miles west of Banning (Riverside Co) motorists are advised to use an alternate route.

Fire has critical rate of spread and has grown rapidly. Fire has split into two directions moving into Poppet Flats, Silent Valley Club, Twin Pines & Cabazon. Communities of Poppet Flats, Twin Pines, Silent Valley and Cabazon are under mandatory evacuations this morning using the Early Warning Notification System. Mt Edna repeater threated and local water district PVC lines, 115KV & 500 KV electrical transmission lines threatened, but no damage reported. Continue direct attack with hand line construction, dozer line and wet line. Implementing indirect attack when needed. Fixed wing operations continue flanking with retardant line. Expect rotary wing to continue water dropping missions with potential personnel and cargo transport missions. With predicted weather and minimal RH recovery the fire will continue to rapidly grow today.

There is a soft closure of 5N95 at Beardsley Road. Four residential communities could be impacted for a potential loss of 100 homes and the closing of Hwy 108. Fire has the potential to spread to the North and crossing the middle fork of the Stanislaus River to the west.

Falls Fire, CA-CNF-2512

1,416 acres 85% contained

Fire is expected to remain within current containment lines. Hot spots near fire line and some burning in interior islands remain a concern. Line construction has been completed. The Ortega Highway (Hwy 74) is intermittently opened to residents with Caltrans escorting traffic. Rolling rocks, fire damaged guardrails and highway signs remain a problem. Caltrans continues to escort intermittent traffic in Decker Canyon. Suppression rehabilitation started today. The demobilization process continues today.

Suppression repair on North and South contingency continues. Most remaining interior fire activity is on the south end of the fire. Fire continues to move into the Kaiser Wilderness. Difficult access and steep terrain raise safety concerns for crews adjacent to the fires edge. Forest Road 4S81 was opened at 1800 on 8/7/2013. Stump Springs Road still remains closed.
