Re: [californiadisasters] off topic ? about email

I like gmail better than the others, plus you can download Thunderbird to pop your emails there. I love this program, too bad my yahoo email wont pop over there..."not too happy with yahoo email now since they did the change with it. Trying to change over this week, enough is enough with yahoo." Hotmail is now outlook.com, interesting format.

Hi All

Question and please do not say get a Smart Phone because I can't afford one and my wife would refuse one for her anyway.

Since we have been in one home for 16 years we have used Charter Communications for internet and email. Now we are facing a move and hopefully some travel and I want to learn about different email providers. Charter will not let us keep email account "@charter.net" without the home Broadband. I do not trust the security of the major free emails like Yahoo and Gmail, is Hotmail even around anymore? would not trust them anyway. What do you all use besides cell phone based stuff? What are the costs if any? I know there are several other free or cheap email account possibilities and so many of you on this Group know way more than we do. Hope this finds you all well and happy!!

John
