VVHS DECA is celebrating DECA week as DECA kicks off their annual DECA month. Did you know that DECA has over 190,000 members? When you take a Business Class at VVHS you become part of the DECA Club. Please join us as we celebrate being part of DECA. Tomorrow is dress to impress day. Those students wearing business attire who visit the DECA Snack Bar on Wednesday will be entered into a drawing to win free lunch. We will have two winners Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Join us as we celebrate VVHS DECA Week during the National DECA Month. Thursday is Jersey Day and Friday is School Spirit Day.
FCA will meet in F212 on today during lunch
Those of you participating in the canned food drive please remember to turn your cans in on Thursday to the activities office. Senate has collected over 500 cans already.
Attention VVHS students and staff: This Saturday the Wing Squad will be hosting a school-wide campus clean-up. We will meet in the A-Hall concourse area at 8 am. Please join us anytime from 8-11 this Saturday morning to clean up our nest. Show some Hawk pride and keep our campus beautiful!
Mu Alpha Theta, Math NHS members remember if you did not participate in both after lunch clean up and pizza sales, you may bring in 5 cans of food to make up the community service lettering requirement. Thank you to everyone that has already brought in food. Mu Alpha Theta members check the Mu Alpha Theta poster outside Ms. Conell's room F103 for upcoming event information.
Volcano Vista Improv Group. The first Improv meeting will be this Friday. Come on by to participate or watch. It will be in H-115 - Mr. Zimmerman's room.
COUNSELING:
- ECademy registration for the Winter term in currently open, the last day to register for
this term is Wednesday November 13th. If you need to recover a credit, make an appointment with your academy Counselor to sign up for the Winter Term of ECademy which begins November 18th. Bring $25 registration fee cash or money order only. - Wednesday, November 6th there will be a representative from Ft. Lewis College, CO, here at noon to meet with students individually. Sign up in the Career Center, if interested.
- Seniors, if you're planning on applying for financial aid in January using the FAFSA,
right now is a good time for you and/or your parents to apply for a US Department of Education PIN by visiting www.pin.ed.gov. This will help make the FAFSA application process easier and faster. Please see Career Counselor, Mrs. Baca-Dory, in Rm. E224 for more information.

- Football: Lost to Cleveland on Friday night – Play Cibola this Friday at Community Stadium at 7. We are the home team. Lets Black Out the Stadium.
- G. Soccer plays La Cueva this Thursday in Quarterfinals of State Tournament.
- B. Soccer plays Cibola this Thursday in Quarterfinals of State Tournament.
- Volleyball lost to Cibola and Cleveland – Plays at Rio Rancho on Tuesday in first round of district tournament
- Boys Basketball tryouts are today from 6-8pm. A completed physical is required in order to tryout. See Coach Cuevas in room A 114 for questions.
- Girls Basketball tryouts are today from 2:45-4:45pm. You must have an APS physical form and insurance forms complete if you want to tryout.
