08/02/2015 - 8:30 a.m.          

National Weather Service - Eureka has issued a fire weather watch for the northwestern portion of the GACC for thunderstorms with abundant lightning. The watch is in effect from 1300 hours today through this evening. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/firewx/cafw/rfwwarningsbycwa.php?pil=XXXRFWEKA

CA-SHF Fork Complex: 23,400 acres, 0% contained. Fire is in Unified Command with CALFIRE. Multiple structures threatened. Complex consists of the large fires Deer, Barker, Rail and Castle 1 and numerous other smaller fires. Multiple structures continue to be threatened in the communities of Hayfork, Hyampom and Post Mountain area.

CA-LNU Rocky Fire: 46,000 acres, 5% contained. Fire had significant growth north towards Highway 20 and east towards Highway 16. Mandatory evacuations and advisory evacuations remain in place. 24 residences destroyed; 26 out buildings destroyed.

CA-HUU Humboldt Lighting Complex: 1,200 acres, 10% contained. Complex consists of 70 fires, of which 10 fires are now uncontrolled. Evacuation advisory for the community of Blocksburg.

CA-SRF Mad River Complex: 6,000+ acres, 0% contained. Complex consists of 19 fires that are merging into 5 large fires. CA IMT1 Team 5 (Minton) has been assigned. SOCAL IMT2 (Walker) has been assigned.

CA-SHF River Complex: 1,827 acres, 0% contained. 18 fires in the complex, with some fires merging together. Evacuations in place for the Hoboken, Dailey, Denny and scattered residences on the Denny Road. Acreage determined by IR flight.

CA-MDF Frog Fire: 3,900 acres, 5% contained. COTP power lines and natural gas lines are threatened. Fire had significant runs with spotting across containment lines due to thunderstorm activity.

CA-NEU Lowell Fire: 2,304 acres, 80% contained. Fire suppression repair continues.

CA-LNU Wragg Fire: 8,051 acres, 95% contained. Fire suppression repair continues.

CA-SHF Water Fire: 75 acres, 0% contained, burning in timber and brush. Erractive fire behavior driven by thunderstorm activity. Threat to COTP power lines and natural gas lines. Fire is located 7 miles north of Pondosa.

CA-BTU Swedes Fire: 400 acres, 90% contained. Suppression repair continues.

CA-SHF Fork Complex: 12,500 acres, 0% contained. Complex now includes previously reported Barker Fire. Complex currently consists of 40 fires in the Hayfork and Hyampom areas.

CA-LNU Rocky Fire: 25,750 acres, 5% contained. Mandatory evacuations in place for numerous areas of the fire. 24 residences destroyed; 26 out buildings destroyed.

CA-HUU Humboldt Lighting Complex: 1,000 acres, 5% contained. Complex consists of 70 fires, with 18 fires uncontrolled. Immediate threat to the community of Blocksburg.

CA-SRF Mad River Complex: 6,000+ acres, 0% contained. Complex consists of 19 fires that are merging into 5 large fires. SOCAL IMT2 (Walker) has been assigned.

CA-SHF River Complex: 2,020 acres, 0% contained. Evacuations in place for the Hoboken, Dailey, Denny and scattered residences on the Denny Road.

CA-MDF Frog Fire: 3,000 acres, 5% contained. Fire continues to make rapid runs due to afternoon thunderstorm activity.

CA-NEU Lowell Fire: 2,304 acres, 80% contained.

CA-LNU Wragg Fire: 8,051 acres, 95% contained.

CA-HUU Queen Fire: 158 acres, 100% contained.

CA-BTU Swedes Fire: 400 acres, 90% contained.

CA-SHU China Fire: 212 acres, 100% contained.

CA-LNU Rocky Fire: 22,500 acres, 5% contained. Fire remained active throughout the night. An evacuation advisory has been issued for the city of Clear Lake impacting 5,000 residences.

CA-SHF Fork Complex: 4,000 acres, 0% contained. Multiple structures threatened in the Hyampom, Hayfork and Post Mountain communities. All fires remained active throughout the night. NorCal IMT2 (Young) assumed command at 0600 hours today. CA IMT1 Team 4 (Opliger) has been ordered.

CA-SHF River Complex: 1,800 acres, 0% contained. Evacuations in place for the Denny area. Numerous active fires over a large geographic area. CA IMT1 Team 3 (Vontillow) assumed command at 0600 hours today.

CA-NEU Lowell Fire: 2,303 acres, 75% contained. Smoldering fire behavior with backing fire in small interior islands. Fire suppression repair continues.

CA-LNU Wragg Fire: 8,051 acres, 92% contained. Minimal fire activity. Fire suppression repair continues.

CA-MDF Frog Fire: 1,850 acres, 5% contained. Fire made extreme runs under yesterday's thunder cells causing 1/2 mile spotting. NorCal IMT2 (Kurth) assumed command at 0600 hours today.

CA-SHU Barker Fire: 900 acres, 5% contained. Located northeast of Hayfork. Threat to residences; mandatory evacuations in place for the Barker Creek area.

CA-HUU Humboldt Lighting Complex: 900 acres, 5% contained. Complex consists of 70 fires, with 18 fires uncontrolled. Immediate threat to the community of Blocksburg.

CA-SHU China Fire: 212 acres, 95% contained.

CA-MNF Etsel Fire: 32 acres, 20% contained. Burning in timber and brush in the Yuki Wilderness.

CA-HUU Queen Fire: 158 acres, 90% contained. Mop up in heavy logging slash continues.

CA-SRF Mad River Complex: 1,500 acres, 0% contained. SOCAL IMT2 (Walker) has been assigned.

CA-BTU Swedes Fire: 400 acres, 80% contained.

The National Weather Service Medford has now issued a Red Flag Warning for scattered dry lightning storms from 1400 hours today through 2300 Sunday. The fire weather watch originally issued for Sunday has now been upgraded. The area affected includes central Siskiyou county. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/firewx/cafw/rfwwarningsbycwa.php?pil=XXXRFWMFR
