Re: [californiadisasters] Santa Clarita Valley brush fire grows to 1,100 acre...

Take it and run--and kudos to those who do take precautions!

It's amazing how **bare** those hills look...but how well they burn.

Keep safe!

>I live near this area and I can say nearly all residents practice excellent
brush clearing standards.   They also have reverse pool pumps and know
how to use them.   While some of the video seen on the news looked
ominous, this fire really didn't have much of a chance to cause public
damage.  The same can probably be said for other nearby neighborhoods
in Santa Clarita and Northridge.    Hats off to residents who
care, listen, and take action when needed.   30 years ago a fire like
that would have been a much bigger problem.
