THE STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM is getting ready to start the school year. If you would like to be part of this organization, go to the VVHS website and look under the news section and fill out the application. You can also pick up a hard copy of the application in the 9th grade academy office. All current ambassadors, we will have our first meeting on Monday, September 26 at lunch in the lecture hall.
THE ART CLUB has put together an art display in the Main Office in recognition of National Arts in Education Week, which is this week. You can also view artwork by VVHS Students in the Library and in the G Hall Display Case. Stop by and see what your talented VVHS classmates are making.
FLY FISHING CLUB will meet in F-212 on Wednesdays AND Fridays going forward, current members please attend and new members are welcome anytime!!
WING SQUAD Don't forget to drop into the Lecture Hall during Lunch today to see what exciting events Wing Squad will be helping out with this month and next and meet our new Officers. It's great to be a Helpful Hawk.
CAMPUS CLEANUP: Saturday, September 17 we will be having a campus cleanup. If you need community service hours for your club this is a great opportunity to get them. We will meet at 9am by the activities office. Please bring gloves and gardening utensils-shovels, rakes, hedge trimmers, etc.
DRAMA: Didn't make it in Powder Puff? Audition for Shakespeare's Twelfth Night instead. Prepare a memorized, 1-minute Shakespeare monologue for auditions after school today in the PAC. See Ms. Gonzales to sign up for your audition time!
UNIFIED HAWKS: Were you interested in or participated in Best Buddies in previous years? Then this new club may be of interest to you! Do you want to make new friends? Do you want to create a positive and inclusive environment? Do you want to play sports like flag football and kickball? Unified Hawks is a new club at Volcano Vista that combines friendships and sports for students of all abilities. Come check us out this Friday during lunch in room H216!
COUNSELING:
JUNIORS: If you are interested is signing up for the P.S.A.T. Please see Mr.Garcia in E224 during Lunch or after school. The cost is 15 dollars cash or check. This is your opportunity for qualify for the National Merit Scholars Program. The last day to sign up is September 21st.
eCademy Students who have NOT engaged their eCADEMY class will be dropped on Monday September 19th . Please Log in and engage with your online class and instructor as soon as possible to avoid being dropped from your online classes.
ATHLETICS
Pick up basketball in Aux gym every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at lunch
BOYS SOCCER: plays the Valley Vikings today at 3:30 at VVHS
XC: will be running in the Cleveland Invitational at 3 tomorrow.
FOOTBALL: will be playing Mayfield at Community Stadium at 7 tomorrow night.
There will be no staff yoga class after school today. Yoga will resume next Thursday in the Library.
We will be on a short assembly schedule tomorrow to introduce our 2016 Homecoming Court and to vote for high court.
Wear Blue tomorrow in support of Law Enforcement.
