2013: Moisture pushed northward ahead of Tropical Storm Ivo brought severe thunderstorms to
Imperial and eastern Riverside Counties.
The storms produced hail up to one inch in diameter, wind gusts up to 60 mph, and rainfall that
approached 6" along the western shore of the Salton Sea.

2012: Today ended 19 consecutive days of 100° F or greater maximum temperatures for
Fresno (since Aug 6th).
Strong high pressure was in control during this period.

2010:
Downtown San Francisco had a high of 98
° F which tied its monthly record.

2003:
Thunderstorms hit the Cuyamaca Mountains (San Diego Co.).
2" of rain fell in Pine Valley in 35 minutes.
Flash flooding occurred in Pine Valley and east of Alpine.
Nickel size hail fell in Pine Valley.
Strong winds at Lake
Henshaw caused major tree damage.

2000: Strong thunderstorms moved through Twentynine Palms causing roads to become flooded. Several residents became stranded in the high water and a few swift water rescues were preformed.
Three residences experienced structural damage due to the heavy rains including a home that had a tree fall on it.
Lightning struck the Twentynine Palms City Hall causing about four thousand dollars damage. Damage was mainly confined to its electrical system.

2000:
A thunderstorm dropped 0.76" on Palomar Mountain, producing a mud slide which closed Highway 76.

1977: Half Moon Bay received 0.19" of rain.

1962: Reno, NV's temperature dips to a low of 33° F.

1961: Flooding resulting from a thunderstorm covered roads with water and mud, trapping passengers in at least 20 cars in the Mojave area.
Railroad tracks were blocked with debris for up to 18 hours.

1951: A hurricane came ashore on the Baja peninsula southwest of Yuma, AZ.
Over the next four days it dropped prodigious amounts of rain over parts of central Arizona causing widespread flooding damage.

1942: It reached 117° F in Las Vegas, NV, establishing an all-time high for the city.
This was equaled on 7/19/2005.

1913: Second of three consecutive nights where Fresno recorded a record high minimum temperature.
The low temperature dropped to only 80° F.
