[CaliforniaDisasters] What the Redding Fire Department Did After Carr Fire Containment

12 babies born in Redding Fire Department after devastating Carr Fire

- Nearly one year after the devastating Carr Fire, Redding firefighters who were out on the frontlines have extra backup.

The Redding Fire Department welcomed 12 babies in the past year and among the bunch is three sets of twins, according to KRCR.

"After the Carr Fire, after we all went through something emotional we all got together and were telling each other what was happening, and we all kind of figured out we were all pregnant together," said Kimberly Hanlon, wife of a Redding firefighter.

While their husbands worked to keep the community safe, the wives forged a sense of sisterhood.

"We actually communicated day and night, 24/7," said Hanlon. "It was a hard time especially being pregnant everyone, you know, trying to get together and help each other."

The women got the babies together for a photoshoot on Tuesday to show off the new generation of firefighters.
