[californiadisasters] Re: I have no words after watching..............

I transport my 2 grandchildren to and from school each day. I have seen people drive thru the crosswalk WHILE the crossing guard is standing there with children and a sign! This after THEY dropped their own child off! Here in California it is supposed to be illegal to talk on your cell and drive but it happens ALL the time! Momentary attention deficit is the cause of accidents. I am ever vigilant against those drivers who are out to "get" me. While I try to anticipate the dangers unseen, I know others are not and all of the dangers can't be obvious like someone crossing the lanes from far away! There is a thin line between life and death on the highways and we don't get to control it for ourselves. I am making sure that my 14 year-old grand daughter sees this hoping she will realize how important paying attention to just driving is! I was a school bus driver for a time and one habit I still have is "feet", when looking ahead while driving always look for little feet that are in front of the parked cars because they are probably not looking for you. In fact parked cars are a good reason to slow down!
