Initial Attack Activity was light in the GACC yesterday with 12 fires for 15 acres reported in the Daily Situation Report, ( there may be a 24-hour delay in reporting on the SIT report).
Lightning was recorded in the GACC yesterday, about 30 strikes in the ENF/TNF/TMU area. At this time there are several small fires reported as a result of the lightning.

There are 4 small fires being managed to achieve multiple objectives (ENF).

There are currently no large fires burning in the GACC.

Fuels are dry throughout the region.  1000 hour fuels are calculated at or below 14 percent except for the North Coast PSA.   BI is averaged at 54 for the GAC. Ignition component averaged across the GACC is 48.

A low pressure trough will move onshore Sunday that will push that pattern eastward and bring some light showers and certainly much cooler temps higher RH to the northern half of North Ops at least into Monday. The southern end of that trough is likely to break off and form a closed low over central California by Tuesday, and this will put a rather moist easterly flow across much of the area and a drier northerly flow over the NW quarter of North Ops for a few days (mostly Tuesday). The NE and East Side PSA's could actually end up with periodic light showers in what amounts of upslope flow conditions there around the cut off low. Cool, relatively moist conditions will prevail next week as the low lingers over the region.

Resources committed out of the GACC include 10 Type 1 Crews. A booster load of smokejumpers is on base and available.

Today our thoughts are with the Marovich family and their Region 5 Forest Service escorts, as they attend the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.
