02/23/2012 | 0615 | The latest product from the National Drought Mitigation Center reports that California's short-term drought has not improved, even with the recent precipitation. Only 5% of California is at normal levels; 28% is "abnormally dry", 62% experiencing "moderate" drought conditions, and 5% of the state now is classified as having "severe" short-term drought conditions. The "severe" conditions exist in the Northeastern corner of the state. |
