[californiadisasters] On This Date In CA Weather History (August 24)

2003: Thunderstorms hit the Cuyamaca Mountains (San Diego Co.).
Two inches of rain fell in Pine Valley in 35 minutes.
Flash flooding occurred in Pine Valley and east of Alpine.
Nickel size hail fell in Pine Valley. Strong winds at Lake
Henshaw caused major tree damage.

2000: A thunderstorm dropped 0.76" on Palomar Mountain, producing a mud slide which closed Highway 76.

1942: It reached 117° in Las Vegas, NV, establishing an all-time high for the city. This was equaled on 7/19/2005.

1913: Second of three consecutive nights where Fresno recorded a record high minimum temperature.
The low temperature dropped to only 80°.
