While its possible that Google was hacked, it is highly unlikely (and not on the evening news).

It is likely a back door virus or Trojan.  Careful use of detection and purging tools are recommended.  Some are insidious and a PITA to remove. 

Once completed, a replacement of EACH user password (login, web sites, banking etc) should occur since attacks and infestations may include keyboard logging and worse. 

Be paranoid; someone IS always trying to get your data.
