Highlights:
· Major winter storm conditions ending for East Coast this morning. Initial snow measurements range from 1 to 3 feet from the Central Appalachians to Northeast with coastal wind gusts up to 75 mph reported.
· A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 2pm ET for low lying coastal locations along the South shore of Southwest Suffolk County, NJ. The majority of the roads that flooded remain passable. There is no significant threat to life and any impact on property is minimal.
· New York State has declared a State of Emergency.
· The Georgia State EOC has been activated.
· A total of 33 shelters are open with 41 occupants across ten States.
· Approximately 2,300 National Guardsman have been activated across the affected area.
· A FEMA Liaison Officer has been deployed to Kentucky.
· A total of 4,000 flights have been cancelled.
· 86,000 customers remain without power throughout the East Coast.
· The travel ban in NYC was lifted at 7 a.m.; all bridges into & out of city are now open and mass transit is resuming service.
· Mandatory evacuations are in effect for Barnegat Township and voluntary evacuations are in effect for Towns of Berkley, Tuckerton, Manasquan, Brick and Toms River.
