On This Date In California Weather History.....

2008: Santa Ana winds blew from 11.15 to this day.
Winds gusted over 70 mph in the Santa Ana Mountains and over 60 mph in
the northern Inland Empire.
The Freeway Complex Fire burned from Corona through Chino Hills and
Yorba Linda.
This fire destroyed or damaged over 300 homes and four businesses.
More than 30,000 acres burned and more than 40,000 evacuated.

1994: Lodgepole (Sequoia Nat'. Park) recorded a low of -3 degrees,
coldest on record for the month of November.

1994: The morning low temperature at Reno, NV was 3.

1967: A moist subtropical storm system produced 14"+ in mountains
above LA, 7.96" in LA.
It was called "worst since 1934."
On this day 1.87 inches fell in one hour in LA, the greatest one hour
rainfall on record.
Flooding was called the "worst since 1934."
Two were killed.
Flash flooding and mud slides resulted.
400 were stranded in the mountains due to closed highways.

1964: After a major snowstorm, arctic air covered the region.
It was 15° below zero in Big Bear Lake, the lowest temperature on
record for November, the third lowest temperature on record, and the
earliest date in the season to record a temperature below zero.
It was 10° in Idyllwild, the lowest temperature on record for November.
This also occurred on 11.17.1958.
It was 8° in Victorville, the lowest temperature on record for November.

1963: Heavy rains hit Southern California with 1.5 to 3 inches on this
day and on 11.20.
Six were injured in local flooding and numerous traffic accidents.
Strong storm winds downed hundreds of trees and power lines.

1950: Bakersfield's low was 65 degrees, highest on record for the
month of November.

1906: High winds downed trees and tore down power lines at Yosemite
National Park.
