San Diego County has been added to the list of California counties considered to have an official state of emergency because of recent rain storms.
Acting Gov. Abel Maldonado made the proclamation Friday, making the county eligible for state disaster assistance funds.
The county's worst-hit areas include the border region of the Tijuana River Valley, the Mission Valley area of San Diego, stretches of track of the North County Transit District, and several backcountry roads and bridges.
County officials are still tabulating the cost of the damage.
