The truck is gassed up, the radio batteries are charged, and my gear is packed and sitting next to the front door. Locally, we only have some minor street flooding, but it may get worse before it gets better.

Achtung Gruppe!

Incredibly heavy and long-lived rains over a broad swath of Southern and Central California with imbedded thunderstorms are have been and are occurring right now and will continue to do so overnight into tomorrow morning.
By later this morning into tomorrow afternoon some bad things will probably be happening so please be cautious.
If you are in a dangerous location take your own survival into your own hands and act prudently and proactively.
If you are aware of any significant situations that are not otherwise being covered here or to which you have something to add please feel free to do so.
I have posted the "On This Date In CA WX History" column early so it won't get inundated by posts about other things later this morning.
We will also have two automatic anniversary postings later this morning as well, one for the 1977 Honda Canyon Fire and one for the 2003 San Simeon Quake.
