San Luis Obispo County emergency planners are asking for the public's help in updating its local hazard mitigation plan.

Until May 31, county residents can take an online survey. The purpose of the update and survey are to assess local risks from natural hazards and implement hazard reduction actions, said Dan Buckshi, county administrator.

"The county is currently seeking public input via an online survey not only to ensure an effective planning process but also to allow public input on general emergency preparedness and planning processes, to help determine how well the public is prepared and how the county and other local agencies can increase their preparedness," he said.

Additional information can also be obtained at the county's Emergency Services website or by calling (805) 781-5011.
