I wanted to pass along some safety info to our families. I got the following message from my friend:
Just to shoot out a little info, a friend and I were out on a walk this evening, and ran into a few police officers parked up and down Carousal. So we asked kind of what has been going on. I personally have noticed quite a few officers regularly going up and down Kachina daily...and have noticed people driving and slowing down in front of peoples' homes, looking like they were "checking" things out. ANY WHO the officer told us there have been 6-8 different break ins in the last couple of weeks. So I asked what he suggested were the best things to do to prevent these things! He said the high point of the break-ins in this area take place from 10am-2pm; he said to make sure they see you home, be out in your yard, or if you are not going to be home, leave a TV on or play music. He also said to open your doors to the door to door salesmen, (but don't let them in) so they know you are home. A lot of doors get kicked in from these people who say they are salesmen, but really are just checking to see if you are home! Any way, he said to call that 242-cops number any time you see any sort of suspicious activity, he said since all this has been going on, and people start being more interactive and being more nosey, they are noticing more things and have been calling things in and they have made a TON of arrests on just those alone. Oh another thing he said was to keep your garage doors closed! Any way just thought I would let you all know what I found out tonight about our area!
