[Volcano_Vista_HS] NEW 2013-14 Parent Advisory Board

I wanted to publicly thank a few parents who have worked diligently on behalf of students and staff members of Volcano Vista High School while I have been working on the Parent Advisory Board.

 

First, is Cindy Webb who has been at the school since it opened. She served as the Parent Advisory President (2 years), a parent rep for the VVHS Instructional Council (2 years), and my Vice President (2 years) during the four years I have been involved. She is a dedicated parent who has helped shape some of the programs we have instilled at our school. Her youngest has graduated so she will no longer serve on the Parent Advisory Board...She does, however, work at the school as the Freshman Academy Secretary so she will still be around should the new board need advice :)

 

Kathryn Auh has been dedicated to serving in many capacities at Chamiza, LBJ, and Volcano Vista. Kathryn has been our treasurer the past two years and has been a careful steward of our funds. She has been a valuable member of our board and will be missed. She too has a graduating senior but will be back in a few years when her youngest attends VVHS.

 

BJ Powell started off serving as a parent rep on the APS Calendar Committee and then served as our parent newsletter editor. She also was a parent rep with me on the Instructional Council these past two years. BJ is detail oriented and caught things others may have overlooked. Her youngest also graduated this year.

 

I appreciate the others who helped me while I served as the VVHS Parent Advisory President the past two years: Tammy Schaap, who was our secretary, Jacque Larsen who was our staff appreciation chairman, in addition to the many others who helped out with various events.

I will miss Volcano Vista High School and am happy with my years there.
