Good general knowledge. The most important item was "know what County (island) you are on". In general, know where you are so you can take appropriate action for earthquake, floods, fires, tornadoes - whether to take cover immediately or that you have time to evacuate. Situational awareness goes a long way towards your survival as well as being properly provisioned. I usually carry a Marine Band/WX radio with me so i can hear local conditions if a am having trouble receiving a local broadcast station when i travel through the States.
