[californiadisasters] Erskine Incident - Kern Co. - Lake Isabella

From our friends at Airtankers Yahoo Group:

The "Erskine Fire" is now being reported at 30,000 acres with only 5% containment.  Fire continues to  burn in sagebrush, dead fall tree's and timber. Fire has reportedly destroyed 100 homes or structures.  Strong winds very low humidity and extreme heat are making for a perfect recipe for the fire as it continues to burn towards the Southeast.  Very steep and rugged conditions are hampering containment efforts.    Over 2,000 people remain evacuated and the communities of South Fork, Weldon, Onyx, Lakeland estates, Mountain Mesa and Yankee Canyon remain threatened.   The fire was reportedly burned 11 miles in 13 hours according to Inciweb.  Tankers have been very busy today working the fire.   Tankers #01,#10, #60 (DC-7) #131 and #132, #163  have been working the fire out of Porterville,CA.  VLATS #910 and #912 have reportedly been using both San Bernardino and Santa Maria for reload today. (6-24)
