Erskine Fire, CA-CND-001415, Vegetation, Kern County, Update
Erskine Creek Rd x Apollo Way near Lake Isabella
CA IMT1 (Minton) in command
Unified command with USFS, BLM, and Kern County Fire
SRA/FRA

  • 45,388 Acres, 45% Contained
  • Evacuation orders still in place
  • Continued threat for communities of South Lake and Bull Center.
    As well as portions of Hwy 178 and the Kelso Valley.
  • Road closures are in effect for portions of Highway 178.
  • Precautionary evacuation order is in place for Squire Valley, Mountain Mesa,
    South Lake, Lake Isabella, and the Weldon area.
  • Re-entry plan started today in coordination with Kern County Sheriffs for
    Yankee Canyon, Mountain Mesa, and areas of East South Lake along Hwy 178.
  • Commitment of Forest Service air and ground resources

Marina Fire, CA-INF-000992, Vegetation, Mono County, Update
1 Mile NW of Lee Vining

  • 654 Acres, 61% Contained
  • Minimal fire growth anticipated.
  • Continued threat to Tioga Lodge, High Sierra Shrimp Plant, Mono Inn and Sage Grouse Habitat
    Big Horn sheep habitat, Lee Vining, and electric transmission lines.
  • As of 0800 all evacuations have been lifted.
  • Hwy395 has been reopened in both directions.
  • Mono County Sheriffs is no longer in Unified Command with USFS.

Sherpa Fire, CA-LPF-001643, Vegetation, Santa Barbara County, Update
11 miles north of Goleta, Camino Cielo Ridge

  • 7,474 acres, 93% Contained
  • El Capitan State Beach will remain closed at least through 07/15/2016
  • North Refugio Rd is closed from the Santa Ynez River to West Camino
    Cielo Road. West Camino Cielo Rd. remains closed to the public.

  • Road closures are in effect for portions of Highway 178
  • Precautionary evacuation order is in place for Squire Valley, Mountain Mesa,
    South Lake, Lake Isabella, and the Weldon area.
  • Commitment of Forest Service air and ground resources

  • Hwy 395 closed Between Lee Vining and Highway 167 with Periodic escorted one-lane traffic
  • Power outages reported North of Lee Vining

  • CALFIRE IMT (Bravo), transitioned incident back to MVU Type 3
    Organization at 0700 today.
