08/29 | 1845 | Pala CA-MVU-9673; Pala, San Diego County. 300 acres, 0% contained. 35 residences threatened, aircraft were diverted several times to new starts. Resources spread thin due to weekend lightning fires. Today the fire had a rapid spread and was spotting ¼ mile ahead of the fire.
Wells: Mojave National Preserve, San Bernardino County. 1,584 acres, 70% contained fuels are brush, grass, and Joshua trees.
Florida; Mentone, San Bernardino County 67 acres, 80% contained, no movement expected.
Motor: El Portal, Mariposa County 5,231 acres, 50% contained, good progress was made today in building and securing the line. Most activity on the fire is either burning out of heavy fuels or islands of unburned fuels.

08/29 | 0645 | Argyle; Southeast of King City, Monterey County 200 acres, 90% contained. As of 1900 hours last night the fire is holding within containment lines no anticipated movement projected.
Wells; Mojave National Preserve, San Bernardino County 900 acres, 30% contained as of 2100 hours last night. Values at risk include natural cultural resources including endangered species desert tortoise.

08/29 | 0630 | Ridge CA-CNF-002676; Pine Valley, San Diego County. 150 acres, 35% contained as of 2300 hours last night. There was potential on the east flank for spreading to private property if line doesn't hold. Extremely steep terrain, hampering control efforts. |
08/29 | 0615 | Motor; Mariposa County 4,755 acres, 35% contained, Fire activity continues on the east flank of the fire. Isolated hot spots and areas of interior burnout were observed on the Divisions north of the Merced river. Fire south of the Merced showed little activity. Crews made good progress through the night.
Florida; Mentone, San BernardinoCounty 67 acres 60% contained. Heavy brush and grass, citrus groves. Greenspot Road opened both directions at 0400 hours.
Oasis; Pinion Hills, Los Angeles County 345 acres, 85% contained. No fire behavior was observed last night. Hot weather slowing progress of mop up efforts. |
