smoke is causing alot of trouble for the fire fighters and pilots on this fire. the inversion layer is over the fire keeping the air attack including helicopters away from the fire 
due to the smoke, they have less then 1 mile visability .. the inversion layer is suppose to move about 1400 hours- per scanner

fire has ice capped at 25,000 feet, and the fire has extreme activity back side of the heel, neasr vista point x hwy 36 per scanner. fire has also jumped the
battle creek area, this is where the bull dozers up on the ridge were trying to tie it in to keep it from crossing,,

Evacuations:	Evacuations for the following areas: Forward Rd at Graham to the C Line Forward Mill Rd from Rock Creek Rd to Forward Camp Rd Rock Creek Rd from Manton Rd to Long Hay Flat Rd All of Long Hay Flat Rd and Woodcutter Way Southside of Highway 44 from Viola to Brush Oak Northside of Hwy 44 from Viola to Alward Hazen Rd area and South Power House Rd south of Manton Hwy 44 at Brush Oak east to and including Viola, Plateau Pines, Starlight Pines and McCumber

Conditions:	Road closures: Hwy 44 from Viola to Brush Oak. Manton Rd. and all roads leading out of Manton have been closed. Hwy 44 in Shingletown and Viola areas and all roads south are in controlled traffic mode.Hwy 299 should be used as an alternate route due to Hwy 44 closures. Manton School has been closed until further notice. The Red Cross has opened up an evacuation shelter at Big League Dreams - 20155 Viking Way - Redding. The fire is spreading north-northeast from the Manton area toward the communities of Shingletown and Viola. The fire is approximately 1 mile from Hwy 44.
