Subject: Need your Help on EMPG Survey
Date: February 16, 2011

Dear Local Government Emergency Manager:

On February 8, a formal invitation to participate in a survey about EMPG funds was sent to you along with a link to a survey.

IAEM-USA and NEMA are partnering on this survey and need additional completed survey responses to assist in our Congressional efforts to maintain the amount of EMPG funds for the 2012 fiscal year. This year we are facing an uphill battle to protect EMPG funding given the current economic and political climate. Therefore, we need every local emergency managers help to make the case with Congress that EMPG needs to be preserved and maintained.

If your jurisdiction currently receives EMPG, then EMPG success stories, or specific information on what you have been able to accomplish because of EMPG, will be particularly helpful in our efforts.

We need your help even if your jurisdiction does not receive EMPG funding currently. You can follow the survey link, enter zeros for all of the questions related to EMPG, and, if you so desire, address why your jurisdiction does not receive EMPG funding in the open-ended comment section at the end of the survey.

If you have already completed the survey, we thank you for your time. If you have not yet completed the survey, please take this opportunity to do so at:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EMPG_ROI.

You can stop and return to the survey any time before February 23 from the computer on which you started the survey.

Please take a couple of minutes to complete the survey and in so doing help us make the case for preserving EMPG funding.

If you have any questions, feel free to send a comment to comments@iaem.com or contact Jessica Jensen at 701 219 4293 or by email at ja.jensen@ndsu.edu.

We thank you in advance for your help.
