[californiadisasters] Admin Read: Dry Lightning Outbreak

Achtung Gruppe!

Today, a significant part of the state will be under the gun today for dry lightning and gust outflow winds, to wit, the Southern Coast Ranges,  the Western Transverse Ranges,  and the Tehachipi Mountains. Theoretically-speaking, we could see the advent of a fire outbreak or even a fire siege if events play out favorably for that outcome ala Summer of 2008 on the Monterey District of the LPF and into the NorCal mountains. Check here for a map of the Red Flag Warning area: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/lox/

I will be at work all day out in the Adelaida area west of Paso Robles starting a short time from now so please keep this group updated of SIGNIFICANT life and property-threatening fires or fires of large enough scale or scope to be significant even if not a threat to life and property initially. Remember to monitor the Southern California fire and scanner Yahoo Groups as well as the Hotlist for info beyond what is posted here.
