06/22/2012 | 1215 | The Western Great Basin has issued a Fuels & Fire Behavior Advisory for "Heavy fuel loadings, very low fuel moistures, and above-normal temperatures point to potential for extreme fire behavior in the Western Great Basin." http://www.predictiveservices.nifc.gov/fuels_fire-danger/WGB_Fuels_fire_behavior_advisory_062212.pdf The Eastern Great Basin has issued a Fuels & Fire Beahvior Advisory for "Very dry dead and down fuel at high elevations are contributing to advanced fire behavior. Live fuel moistures across the area are below normal for this time of year. A combination of very low soil moisture and added fuel from last year's grass crop at low elevations can make fires difficult to contain." http://www.predictiveservices.nifc.gov/fuels_fire-danger/EGB_Fuels_fire_behavior_advisory_062212.pdf The Western Slopes of Colorado Fuels & Fire Behavior Advisory issued on June 4th for "Aggressive fire behavior encountered during spring and early summer" is still in effect; the Eastern Area Advisory has expired.
