[californiadisasters] On This Date In CA Weather History (April 25)



1984: Gusty winds as high as 55 mph blew down trees in the southern Sierra and knocked down almond trees and cotton crops and damaged some roofs in the San Joaquin Valley.

1978: An F0 tornado touched down near Buttonwillow.

1898: It was 118° at Volcano Springs, CA, (now named Mundo in Imperial Co.).
This established an all-time April high temperature in the U.S.

1898: Highest temperature ever in April at Fresno, 101° (also set on April 24, 1910). Visalia reached a sweltering 103°.
