[californiadisasters] On This Date In California Weather History (April 14)



2009: The "Tax Day" Low brought wind gust up to 63 mph to parts of Las Vegas and sank boats and damaged docks on Lake Mead. 

2007: A weak tornado spun up near Gavilan College in Santa Clara County cause EF0 damage.

2003: A cold storm system brought late season snow to the local mountains.
Snow totals around one foot were reported above 6,000 ft, with local amounts to 20" on the higher peaks.
Lighter accumulations occurred as low as 3,500 ft.

2006:
A funnel cloud was observed over Del Mar.

1988: The Angels' home game at Anaheim Stadium against the Chicago White Sox was rained out.

1985: Earliest triple digit high temperature on record at Edwards AFB, 100° F.

1971: The Padres' home game against the Chicago Cubs was rained out at (then) San Diego Stadium.

1963: Pismo Beach set a monthly record low of 32° F.

1921: Latest subzero reading and coldest April temperature of record at Huntington Lake, -1° F.

1896: The morning low temperature at Reno, NV, was 15° F.
