2007: A mountain climber was found dead along a challenging trail at an elevation of nearly 10,000 feet in Yosemite National Park.
A combination of cold temperatures, snow, sleet, and strong winds tonight into tomorrow morning contributed to the incident.
There was one other climber who survived the winter weather conditions while climbing.
2002: Damage was heavy in Northern California from the previous day's storm.
Many north state power outages would linger for another day. Thousands of north state residents sat in dark homes after the region's most destructive storm in years.
Wind shrieked up to 80 mph and battered Northern California's power grid, leaving 500,000 people without electricity from Bakersfield to Redding.
2000: Unusually early but the first cold night of the winter occurred on the morning of the 11th as the temperature fell to 31° F at NAS Lemoore.
Fresno had a low of 39° F and Bakersfield at 35° F thereby indicating little in the way of problems for the east side citrus belts.
1997: An EF1 tornado touched down near the Irvine Spectrum Center, and continued on the ground for a quarter mile.
The tornado wreaked havoc on a construction site and damaged numerous cars.
1997: Last night into this morning, 8" of new snow at the higher elevations of the Southern Sierra Nevada.
1993: An F0 tornado in Portola Hills(near Tustin) knocked a mobile home on its side.
Rain, though not especially intense, caused several debris flows from recent burn scars.
In Laguna Beach, 15 homes were damaged, with six suffering extensive damage.
1985: Heavy rain from a cold, slow-moving storm with embedded thunderstorms started on this day and ended on 11.13.
It produced 4.25" in Julian, 3.42" in La Mesa, 2.63" in SDSU, 2.44" in Vista, 2.40" in Lemon Grove, 2.39" in Alpine, 2.19" in Poway, 2.13" in Chula Vista, and 1.84" in San Diego.
Flooding occurred in Spring Valley and Mission Valley, with erosion damage in La Mesa.
The storm dropped 14" of snow in Mt. Laguna, five" in Julian and through the San Gabriel Mountains.
Light snow fell as low as Alpine (1800 feet elevation).
1982: Lake Cuyamaca reported a two-day snowfall total of 22.5".
1978: Priest Valley received 2-1/2" of snow.
1978: 12" of snow fell in Palomar Mountain, the greatest daily snowfall on record for November.
1958: Stricken hard by flooding, city and county officials were tallying the extensive damage to public and private property.
Las Vegas estimated $60,000 worth of damage from the flood and North Las Vegas estimated $50,000 worth of damage.
City crews in both Las Vegas and North Las Vegas were busy clearing intersections of washed-in gravel, tree limbs, and other debris which had halted or snarled traffic for nearly 24 hours.
1954: 1.79" of rain fell in Victorville, the greatest daily amount on record for November.
1950: It was 30° F in Santa Ana, the first date of the season with a freezing temperature on record.
It also marks the lowest November temperature on record.
This also occurred on 11.12.1950, 11.24.1952, and 11.30.1948.
1915: Bridgeport had a morning low of -14° F.
1902: Wet day in Fresno: 1.88" of rain fell, setting a daily record.
