Recently Simon Carn mentioned the wonderful satellite data/image resource website for the eruption in Iceland. I would
like to also direct attention to the following page:

The NASA ASTER science team have been diligently scheduling the ASTER sensor in an urgent request mode in order to
acquire visible/near infrared (VNIR) and thermal infrared (TIR) data of the vent region and surrounding areas. During
every possible opportunity ASTER will acquire both day and night time images with the data being made available in a
few hours on the above website. If anyone would like the raw data, those can also be sent out.

I have processed the data from the last 3 overpasses and posted the full-resolution TIR-derived temperature images, a
VNIR daytime image, and derived TIR product (a plume composition image). The TIR data are 90 m/pixel and the VNIR are
15 m/pixel, with each image covering 60 square km. These images clearly show the original vent location/flows, the new
eruption location, the plume, as well as the coastline and Katla volcano to the east.
