Achtung Gruppe!

I realize Hurricane Irene won't be making landfall in California but I guarantee you it will effect us if it lives up to its potential.

If so California will send USAR Teams and Red Cross and FEMA personnel and as taxpayers in the most taxpaying state in the Union we will all be tossing money into the hat to help clean up the eminent mess and not only taxes but when we pay our insurance premiums.

Therefore, aside from the fact some of our fellow Americans are about to be killed and injured (hopefully as few as possible) many more will lose property and suffer monetary and emotional damage. We also need to brace ourselves for the many other sorts of ripples from this storm that will reach here.

For example, all emergency management and first responder personnel and equipment sent from California to the Carolinas and points further north will not be available here in the event something big happens here while they are out of state.

Back in 2004 when Florida was hit thrice by major and destructive and deadly hurricanes I found the following website very edifying and interesting and recommend it to you:
