[californiadisasters] South Ops News & Notes Update (8/02/12-4PM)

Per the National Interagency Coordination Center

effective immediately the National Preparedness Level is being elevated to 3.

Initial attack and large fire activity is increasing or expected to increase in many

geographical areas due to predicted weather and current fuels conditions. 

There are currently 7 each T2 IMT's, 1 each Type T1 IMT and a NIMO assigned

to incidents in the 3 geographical areas.  There is a significant commitment of

national resources with additional support being ordered through NICC.

Volcano CA-RRU-075254, Vegetation Fire, Riverside County,

Tenaja Road and Via Volcano, Northwest of Murrieta

350 acres, 75% contained. The reduction in acreage is due

to better mapping abilities.
