It was 97° F in San Diego, the highest temperature on record for June until 6/10/1979, when it reached 101° F.
1950: End of a 13 day stretch with below normal average temperatures in Fresno.
Low temperatures were all below 60° F and the "warmest" high during this stretch was only 88° F.
1934: A trace of rain fell in Fresno.
This was the last day precipitation fell in the water season and the total stood at 4.43", the least amount ever recorded.

1975: A very strong late season storm swept through California and into the deserts from late on June 17th into the morning of June 18th.
They brought a dust/sandstorm to the Mojave Desert and Coachella Valley.
Portions of Interstates10 and 15 were closed.
Along I-15 between Barstow and Baker more than 800 people were stranded.
Further south 1,000 travelers were stranded in Cabazon, with more than 100 cars half buried in sand.
North of Palm Springs, wind gusts measured up to 90 mph, while Palm Springs Airport reported 85 mph.
Damage to power lines exceeded $100,000 in Palm Springs.
Thousands of vehicles suffered from sand blasted paint and pitted windshields/chrome.
