A few comments on this post:

Never cite a site that is known for alarmist postings (ie: UFO's, crop circles, and predictions for 2012). According to vulcanologists in Indonesia, Anak Krakatau is a young, Strombolian volcano and indications are that it is not in danger of exploding. In fact, they stress that as long as people maintain a distance of 2 kilometers from the cone, everyone should be safe. The nearest habitation is 42 kilometers away and even if A K blew, volcanic bombs would not reach where people live.

Anak Krakatau volcano is producing hundreds of eruptions every day lately.
Scientists around the world are wondering: is it preparing for it's

According to these same Indonesian volcanologists, Anak Krakatau will not cause a tsunami. And this supposition of these worried folks below need to know that the magma plug comment is entirely erroneous (reference).

Also add prayers for the rest of the
world when it does erupt in all of it's glory. The last time it did
erupt, the tidal wave was worse than the Tsunami of 2004 along with the
emission of toxic gasses that devastated most of the population for
miles around. Many were saved because they climbed to an elevation above
the toxic fumes and the subsequent tsunami.

AND

The amount of damage it will do when it erupts again will depend on the nature of the magma plug.

Yellowstone is NOT due for another eruption. In fact, geologists are uncertain whether given the current data that Y will even erupt at all again. The current rise of the surface in the caldera is something that has been occurring for thousands of years. The caldera rises and falls in a cyclical pattern. No one knows when the next eruption will come, but currently the quakes that occur at the park do not indicate magma is rising. When or if that time comes, then we'll have plenty of warning. Don't believe the stupid movies out there that would have you heading towards the caves and do not trust the alarmists.

Yes, I should have said recent history. I think we have to look at
Tambora as the biggest boy with 150 cubic kilometers of ejecta and
killing 92,000 people. Vesuvius killed an estimated 16,000 and Krakatoa
killed 36,000. The largest volcanic episode in the last 100K years was
Toba, of course, which nearly wiped out the human species reducing
global population to less than 10,000. Toba was a super volcano like
Yellowstone. When that goes, neither of us will find a place to hide,
that is if it goes up in what remains of my lifetime.

Actually Jack, my understanding is that the eruption on the Isle of
Santorini [Thera] in the 15th century BCE is estimated at 6 times
greater than Krakatoa.
Vesuvius eruption in 79AD was at least as great.

Krakatau in 1883 was the most massive explosion in history but it will

temperatures by ten degrees. Worldwide food crops will be destroyed.
