CALIENTE, Calif.—Kern County fire officials say a wildfire has
erupted in a remote, mountainous area east of Bakersfield.
Capt. Derek Tisinger says the blaze broke out shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Monday. Firefighters have requested support from three air tankers.
Tisinger did not immediately know the size of the fire, but said it
had potential to spread through dry brushland.
The fire is located between Lake Isabella and Tehachapi.
