[californiadisasters] Re: Meteorite Strike: Fireball From Space



I've been following the meteor thing with interest. NASA has a special project for tracking "near Earth objects" such as larger meteors and asteroids, and comets. Because they are so numerous, they aren't bothering to track the much small ones which given the speed they approach at, are capable of destroying a city despite the fact they may only be a few hundred feet. Hopefully, one of them won't whack us while NASA has their telescopes turned the other way!
