Early Warning System sirens will be sounding off Tuesday and Wednesday for planned low-volume growl tests in San Luis Obispo County.
All of the 131 sirens, which cover areas from Cayucos to the Nipomo Mesa, will be tested for a few seconds.
The San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services says the sirens, located in the San Luis Obispo County Emergency Planning Zone, can be used when people in the area need to take action during any type of local emergency.
Officials say no action is needed by people in the affected areas during this week's tests.
