RE: [Geology2] RE: What happens when lava engulfs a can of Coca Cola

Next they can put a two liter bottle (Canada Dry this time?) upside down in the path to see if they can get lift off.  ;o)

Answer: No, because it will not melt the lid evenly, it’ll still just leak out, then skew the melting points.  It would be more fun to toss ice cubes in and watch them explode (nearly instantaneous conversion to gases, ignite the hydrogen).

Some people just have too much time on their hands (this thread proves it).

Oh, the horror!  The coke all but writhed in agony.  This must have been done by a pepsi lover.

no... not my Dr. Pepper! Lol. Aluminum is quite melty isn't it? I am sure there is a much more impressive word for how quickly it melts. and now they are making cars out of the stuff. Ack..Allison

Not terribly surprising since aluminum melts at ~1200 and the lava is at least 800 higher than that, but ya, I watched it anyway.  ;o)  A waste of Coke.

I suppose a purist would want similar ‘testing’ for Dr Pepper, A&W and 7up too?
