RE: [californiadisasters] outside help

it's called severity money, NJ sent a lot of equipment last yr to help on fires. AZ does it every year we get equipment from, tenn, Minnesota, PA, NM . They send engines down and are put on Districts for Initial attack. The seasonal s are not on board yet for your area, so they bring other units to put on the forest for initial attack.Very common  .

Maybe so NJ can bill CA for the usage of large equipment that might otherwise sit unused?

Why do we need resources from New Jersey when we have no major fires burning?

I was told that equipment from NJ Forest Fire is sending equipment to California for a few weeks to assist on fires. Most likely dozers and engines.
