THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HANFORD HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE
THURSDAY NIGHT FOR THE FOOTHILLS AND HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE
SIERRA NEVADA FROM YOSEMITE TO KINGS CANYON.
* WINDS: NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS OF 20 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 60
MPH. LOCALIZED GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 75 MPH ARE POSSIBLE OVER RIDGES
AND THROUGH WIND FAVORED CANYONS.
* TIMING: STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND
INCREASE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. VERY WINDY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT.
* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: YOSEMITE VALLEY...BASS LAKE...OAKHURST...SHAVER
LAKE
* IMPACTS: THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR VERY STRONG DAMAGING WINDS WITH
DOWNED TREES AND POWER LINES.
