STRONGEST WINDS SINCE 2007 FIRESTORMS FORECAST

November 29, 2011 (San Diego's East County)-The National Weather Service has
issued a high wind warning for a storm forecast to have 70 mph gusts capable of
toppling trees and damaging power lines. The wind warning is in effect from 7
p.m. this evening through 2 p.m. Friday for San Diego County mountains and
inland valleys. Strong winds are also expected along coastal areas.

Stronger than a wind advisory, a wind warning means that a "hazardous high wind
event" is expected or occurring. The NWS advises securing unsecured objects such
as lawn furniture, closing windows, and using caution when driving, particularly
for high profile vehicles. Visibility may also be reduced due to blowing dust
and sand in some areas.

ECM News partner 10 News reports that the wind speeds forecast are the strongest
since 2007, when firestorms fueled by powerful Santa Ana Winds scorched our
region. "It won't be as strong as that one, but it won't be much weaker," Ivory
Small of the NWS told 10 News.

A cold low pressure system will also bring chilly temperatures and a chance of
thunder showers and mountain snow.

In neighboring San Bernadino and Riverside County mountains, a fire weather
warning has been issued
