04/19/2012 | 0900 | The weekly Drought Monitor graphic for California produced by the National Drought Mitigation Center indicates as of April 17, short-term drought conditions throughout California have improved; the greatest improvement has been in Northern California. Statewide, data shows 15.84% of the state now has no drought conditions (increasing from 4.89% from last week's report), 23.93% is classified as "Abnormally Dry" (increasing from 13.64%), 33.88% as "Moderate" (increasing from 32.47%), and 26.35% is considered to experiencing "Severe" short-term drought conditions (decreasing from 49% last week). |
