04/12	1600	Marty Barrows, former San Jacinto Ranger District (BDF) FMO and first Training Officer at South Zone, passed away March 31, 2012.  This office only received word of his passing today. Marty, a 37-year resident of Hemet, CA, worked for the Forest Service from 1955 to 1984. He was an active participant in the early days of the FIRESCOPE program.  His obituary can be viewed here.
04/10	0730	Our thoughts are with the families, friends and fellow firefighters of Captain David Bailey, Los Angeles County Fire Department. On Tuesday April 3, 2012, at approximately 11:30 a.m., while engaged in physical fitness activities at Los Angeles County Fire Department Camp 14 in Santa Clarita, Fire Captain David Bailey suffered a medical emergency, resulting in his untimely death. Captain Bailey, 50, was a resident of Acton, and is survived by his wife.  Funeral Services will be held on today, April 11, 2012 beginning at 11 am at: Grace Baptist Church 22833 Copper Hill, Santa Clarita CA 91350 http://fire.lacounty.gov/default.asp
