On This Date In California Weather History.....

1983: Peak of late-season hot streak: Record highs of 106 at Fresno and 109 at Bakersfield.
Fresno had highs of 100 or better each day from the 11th through 18th of September.

1971: It was 100° in Palomar Mountain, the highest temperature on record.
This occurred on eight other occasions.

1959: An intense thunderstorm hit east of Joshua Tree City between noon and 1 pm.
Heavy debris flows came from the canyons and damaged numerous homes.
Sand more than three feet deep covered some properties.

1953: The high temperature at Lovelock, NV was 100.

1922: The warmest temperature ever recorded occurred at El Azizia, Lybia with a reading of 136.

1895: Susanville recorded 1.45 inches of precipitation.
